At Station Creek Tree Farm, we specialise in rare and iconic Australian native trees.
Our Trees
Grass Trees
Family: Xanthorrhoeaceae
Genus: Xanthorrhoea
Species: glauca
Unique to Australia, this prized landscape tree makes a dramatic statement in any garden. The history of the Xanthorrhoea fascinated even the first European settlers, as it is so unique it is not related to any other plant species found in Australia. Xanthorrhoea are a very slow growing species, but it is also believed they can live up to 600 years.
Generally frost tolerant, Xanthorrhoea require well drained soil, in a sunny or part shade area. They can also be grown successfully in pots. Station Creek Tree Farm have been legally salvaging these trees from land clearing operations since 1992, and were the first Australian Company to export these trees in commercial quantities. This tree has a growth rate of about 1 centimeter per year.
To guarantee survival the Xanthorrhoea is first re-established in pots. Full cultural notes and planting procedures are supplied with each shipment of Xanthorrhoea.
We supply single trunk grass trees from 25cm clear trunk to 300cm clear trunk as well as multi branched specimens from 1m to 8m cumulative trunk.

Queensland Bottle Tree
Family: Sterculiaceae
Genus: Brachychiton (Brak-ee-KY-ton)
Species: rupestris (rue-PES-tris)
Native to Southern and Central Queensland in Australia, the Queensland Bottle Tree grows to reach 20 meters in height. Its trademark bottle shaped trunk can also reach 8 meters in circumference.
Cultivated trees are usually much smaller, and when grown from seed take 8 to 10 years for the bottle shaped trunk to become noticeable. It is estimated that some large specimens salvaged from the wild are over 120 years old.
The Queensland Bottle Tree is tolerant of a wide range of soils, occurring in the wild, from stony outcrops to deep rich alluvial solid. The tree is generally drought and frost tolerant. Each bottle tree reflects its own individual character, and can be used in many landscape designs.
Large trees (diameter up to 2 meters) are available for purchase in limited numbers from Station Creek Tree Farm, and can be prepared for export to anywhere in the world. We are proud to have been the first Australian Company to export this tree in commercial quantities.
For those with long term planning in mind, we can also supply the seed and seedlings of the Bottle Tree. We encourage the planting of this tree in public community areas such as parks, hospital and school grounds, botanical gardens and areas where generations to come can enjoy its unique beauty.

Australian Cycad
Family: Zamiaceae
Genera: Macrozamia
Species: moorei
This large cycad occurs in Central Queensland and can be successfully transplanted into tropical, subtropical and temperate regions.
The most majestic of all Australian cycads, the Moorei is renowned for its large rounded “date palm” like crown of gracefully curved, green leaves.
The Macrozamia moorei should be planted in well-drained soil. It also makes an excellent specimen for large containers or tubs.
Station Creek Tree Farm has available caudexes from 45cm to 3 metres.
These plants grow approximately 2 cm per year.

Palms & other species
CANARY ISLAND DATE PALM
Phoenix canariensis
This impressive palm grows to 15 metres tall, with a spread of up to 9 metres. It has a sturdy trunk up to 1 metre across and arching deep green fronds up to 3.5 metres long.
This palm is truly one of the great Landmark Trees of the world, and needs plenty of room to show off its dramatic symmetrical shape.
Station Creek Tree Farm stocks palms with trunks ranging from 1 to 7 metres.
DICKSONIA ANTARCTICA TREE FERN
Primarily an under story fern, the Dicksonia thrives in sheltered locations. It will grow happily in secluded, low light positions where other plants will not survive. It will also establish in open positions if moisture is available.
Almost indestructible and virtually maintenance free, the Dicksonia transplants easily and adapts to enhance individual indoor or outdoor arrangements.
Stems from 30cm to a massive 6 metres in length are available from Station Creek Tree Farm. These plants provide a majestic presence for both interior and exterior landscape applications.
CACTUS & SUCCULENTS
Drought-hardy and architecturally striking, cacti and succulents bring bold form and texture to both modern and traditional landscapes. Their ability to store water makes them ideal for low-maintenance plantings, rock gardens, containers, and feature plant displays.
These plants thrive in sunny, free-draining positions and require minimal watering once established. Many species offer dramatic shapes—ranging from the sculptural silhouette of columnar cacti to the rosettes of fleshy succulents in vibrant or silvered tones.
Station Creek Tree Farm offers a curated selection of mature and established cacti and succulents, suitable for statement landscaping, collector displays, and climate-resilient designs. Sizes and species vary seasonally, with both specimen-grade and mass-planting options available.
