Palms and other species

Phoenix canariensis

Canary Island Date Palm

This impressive palm grows to 15 metres tall, with a spread of up to 9 metres. It has a sturdy trunk up to 1 metre across and arching deep green fronds up to 3.5 metres long.

This palm is truly one of the great Landmark Trees of the world, and needs plenty of room to show off its dramatic symmetrical shape.

Station Creek Tree Farm stocks palms with trunks ranging from 1 to 7 metres.

Dicksonia antarctica Tree Fern

Primarily an under story fern, the Dicksonia thrives in sheltered locations. It will grow happily in secluded, low light positions where other plants will not survive. It will also establish in open positions if moisture is available.

Almost indestructible and virtually maintenance free, the Dicksonia transplants easily and adapts to enhance individual indoor or outdoor arrangements.

Stems from 30cm to a massive 6 metres in length are available from Station Creek Tree Farm. These plants provide a majestic presence for both interior and exterior landscape applications.

Brachychiton acerfolious & Grafted Brachychitons

Brachychiton Acerifolious

This tree is commonly known as the Illawarra Flame tree. It is endemic to Australia and occurs from Cape York to Southern New South Wales. The tree can handle a wide range of climate. We have inground trees to 10 metres, all of which have flowered. The tree is semi-deciduous and flowers December to February. The flowers are absolutely stunning. Flowering is followed by prolific seeding.

Grafted Brachychitons

We stock limited numbers of these trees. The advantage of grafted trees as opposed to seed grown, is the grafted trees flower much younger and usually more prolifically.
